Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino, celebrating its 20th anniversary, has a long-standing tradition of going above and beyond for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this October will be no different.

“Caesars Entertainment properties are encouraged to create contests, fundraisers and events related to raising awareness about breast cancer,” said Christine Todd, Harrah’s development systems program manager. “We are lucky to have a community that stands with us in our fundraising efforts.”

For the entire month of October, Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino will proudly display pink throughout the property. Guests can enjoy a pink drink in pink lighting while doubling down with pink playing cards on pink felt blackjack tables in support of the health observance.

Special events are also planned to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society.

Harrah’s is bringing back its VIP fundraising event, Pink Pool Party. This 21-plus event takes place at 7 p.m. on Oct. 25 with pink drinks and treats.

The highlight of the pool party will be the Battle of the Bras fashion show. Each casino department has the chance to design a bra for a male manager or supervisor to model at the party. Guests will then have the enjoyment to bid on their favorite bras with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.

Rounding out the pink-packed party throughout the week, The Lounge offers free, live entertainment.

Vertical Horizon, the band behind the most-played single of 2000, “Everything You Want,” will take the stage at 8 p.m. on Oct. 24. The high-energy show will be filled with an assortment of Vertical Horizon’s well-known and latest hits, including songs from their latest album, Echoes from the Underground.

The S.O.S. Band will play at The Lounge at 8 p.m. Oct. 25, immediately following the Pink Pool Party.

The S.O.S. Band is an R&B and electro-funk group that gained fame in the 1980s and is best known for the songs “Take Your Time (Do It Right),” “Just Be Good to Me,” “Tell Me If You Still Care,” and “The Finest.”
