Holy public office Batman, Price scores as caped crusader

Forty-five percent of InMaricopa.com readers voting in a poll asking the question “Holy popcorn Batman, do you support Ben Affleck as the latest caped crusader” said, “No, just no.” However, 33 percent said, “Yes.”

The real story of the next debonair, billionaire Bruce Wayne, however, may be in who was rated second favorite among the 230 poll respondents.

Gaining 12 percent of the vote, Mayor Christian Price was a more popular Batman than (in descending order) Jensen Ackles (3 percent), Jake Gyllenhall (2 percent), Bradley Copper (2 percent), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (2 percent), Jude Law (1 percent) and Ashton Kutcher at 0 percent with one vote.

“I think I need to pump more iron to fit in the rubber suit,” Price said when he found out of his second-place ranking. Still, “If there’s ever a locally produced ‘Batman.’ I think I will try out.”

Affleck has been taking a lot of, well, flack for his decision to play Batman with friend Matt Damon and former Batman Michael Keaton on his side.
