Ak-Chin Pavilion not popular concert locale for readers

Maybe the long haul from Maricopa to the newly named Ak-Chin Pavilion explains why 74 percent of people responding to an InMaricopa poll question asking them if they go to concerts at the Phoenix location said “No.”

Desert Sky Pavilion was renamed Ak-Chin Pavilion June 18. It is about 45-mile drive from Maricopa to the pavilion at 2121 N. 83rd Ave.

While 139 out of 187 respondents said they don’t go to concerts at the outdoor amphitheater, 17 percent, or 31 people, said they do. Nine percent, or 17 poll-takers, said they plan to attend a future concert.
