When readers were asked if the city’s major events – Salsa Festival, the Great American Barbecue and Stagecoach Days – will improve now that the nonprofit running them for the past year has pulled out and the city is back in charge, the resounding answer was “Yes.”

Sixty-one percent, or 194 out of 318 poll-takers, are glad the city is back in the saddle.

Twenty percent of the readers, or 65 people, said the events won’t improve with the city running them, and 19 percent, or 59 people, said they weren’t sure.
