Prizes, chance at becoming published, encourage summer reading

Secondhand Pages Bookstore has a summer reading program to keep children motivated to read all summer long.

From June 1 to Aug. 31, for each five books read, children enrolled in the program may select a reward from a prize box in the store. Prizes range from toys and games to free ice cream from The Water Boy and smoothies from Maui Wowi Hawaiian Coffees & Smoothies.

Parents may enroll their children by visiting Secondhand Pages Bookstore at 44480 W. Honeycutt, Suite 106 and asking about the program.

Children who wish to take things a step further may write a review of each book they read and submit it, along with a photo, for possible publication on inmaricopa.com.

For information on summer reading call Secondhand Pages at (520) 423-9280. Submit book reviews to [email protected].
