Raceway, other businesses throw snowbird party

Several Maricopa area businesses are teaming up Sunday, Nov. 28 to throw a welcome back to town party for Maricopa’s winter visitors.

The party is being held at Raceway Bar and Grill, 49237 W. Papago Rd, with festivities beginning at 4 p.m.

“These winter visitors provide such a stimulation to the economy, we thought we would throw them a party to show our appreciation,” said Raceway owner Jeanna Del Cotto

The party will include a free barbecue and appetizers for all those in attendance.

Del Cotto said she is also planning on turning all the flat screens in the bar to the Grey Cup, which is the championship for the Canadian Football League.

“We figured the Grey Cup would be a nice slice of home for the northern visitors,” she said.

Sponsors of the event include Hair Focus, Orbitel Communications, Tacos N’ More, Nifty Thrifty, Selections Shutters, Blinds and Custom Drapery, Wonderful Wizards of Waz, Rob’s Convenience Store and Raceway Bar and Grill.
