Radiology center looks to serve imaging needs

AZ-Tech Radiology started in 1997 in Casa Grande with a business model of providing medical imaging services for small, underserved communities. The company is returning to those roots with the opening of a location in Maricopa.

“We have a location in Casa Grande and another in Ahwatukee, and with the vast amount of patients we were receiving from Maricopa, it seemed like a logical move to open an office there,” said Caterina Rhodes, AZ-Tech’s director of operations.

The Maricopa office, which is the company’s sixth location, will offer X-rays, CT scan and MRI services to local residents.

“Even without a huge physician base in the community, there are a lot of people who can use our services,” Rhodes said.

According to Rhodes, doctors often recommend patients go to a radiology company for further testing that is nowhere near where they live.

However, she added a person can always request that they have their radiology work completed at the Maricopa location, which accepts all forms of insurance.

“Most people don’t know that they can ask for a specific radiology company,” she said.

While AZ-Tech’s Maricopa office currently only provides the three aforementioned services, Rhodes said the center may consider offering other services such as mammograms, ultrasounds and bone density scans as demand grows.

“We have premier certified experienced professionals and look forward to serving the community of Maricopa,” Rhodes said.
