“I was so excited I won! I’ve never won anything,” Christine Perry exclaimed about winning a 47” Plasma TV from Orbitel Communications at Maricopa’s 6th Annual Salsa Festival.

“We will really enjoy watching Dora with our daughter, and her dad will like watching basketball,” Perry said.

Perry and her family were among an estimated 11,000 people who packed the evening event at Pacana Park, many of whom visited the Orbitel O-Zone booth to get bottles of water, free sunscreen and towelettes, and to enter the Plasma TV drawing.

“This year’s Salsa Festival was one of the best events we have ever participated in,” said Keith Kirkman , Orbitel president and chief executive officer. “It was a beautiful evening, and the crowd was having such a great time. We were happy to sponsor such a great community event.”

Orbitel was also the sponsor of The Most Unusual Salsa. Maricopa Springs Family Church, a brand new church to Maricopa, won the category.

“Our pineapple mango salsa was all the rage at the Salsa Fest,” Jen Knickerbocker, member of Maricopa Springs Family Church, said. “We are going to use our $500 cash prize from Orbitel to help start the church. It is good timing for us as we’ve just had our first services.”
