Residents prepare for Global Water hearing Wednesday

The Arizona Corporation Commission has set Global Water as the final item on the open meeting agenda for Wednesday, Aug. 25. The case will not be heard before 10 a.m.

This agenda item could be presented anytime after 10 a.m., but it may be heard later in the afternoon, depending on prior agenda items.
 
To present at this open meeting, individuals have to be on record (e-mail to the commissioners or have presented at the open meeting last fall in Maricopa).

The Province Community Association will provide charter buses for all its residents interested in attending the ACC open meeting. This group will be staying until the Global Water agenda item has closed. Interested Province residents can RSVP by contacting the Resident Services Desk at 520-568-8490.

“Let’s show up in numbers and show the ACC that the proposed rate increase by Global Water  will destroy Maricopa, and, within months, Maricopa will be a ghost town if the ACC accepts the proposed increases for Global Water,” said Kraig Carmickle, Province Community Manager in his e-mail to residents.

Other subdivision HOA’s are encouraging residents to e-mail commissioners to express their views on the proposed Global Water rate increase. E-mails should include case number 09-0079 or 09-00800.
