Ride to Remember will honor county’s fallen officers

Motorcycle enthusiasts will take to the road Saturday, April 10, to participate in the Ride to Remember.

The ride is being held to honor fallen officers throughout Pinal County and to raise funds for the Pinal County Peace Officer Memorial’s upkeep and repair. High school law enforcement cadets from CAVIT will also be raising money to help fund a trip to the National Police Memorial in Washington D.C. in May.

All riders will be asked to wear on their jackets or fly on their bikes an 8 1/2 by 11inch banner/flag honoring one of the county’s fallen heroes. The banner will state:  “Riding in honor of ___ (a fallen officer whose name is on the wall) and their end of watch date. At the end of the ride participants will place a flower at the wall in memory of their specific fallen officers.

Registration and breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the ride, which begins and ends at the Peace Officer Memorial Wall at 971 Jason Lopez Circle in Florence, begins at 10 a.m.

A $25 per bike registration fee includes breakfast, a ride bag and t-shirt, and one raffle ticket. All motorcycle enthusiasts are invited to participate.
