While kiddos attended their classes in a local elementary school Thursday morning, a “wild horse” found its home just outside.

During a Facebook livestream, the city installed “Mi Familia” just outside Pima Butte Elementary School. The colorful horse was painted by local artist and former MUSD student Zeya Suchite.

The horse is part of an arts initiative called “Maricopa Wild Horses” unveiled by City Manager Rick Horst in March 2021.

The piece was unveiled in February, along with eight others, some of which are still in the process of being installed.
