Seven businesses approved to operate

The city of Maricopa issued business licenses to seven companies in the past week.

Permits are necessary for all businesses headquartered locally or outside of Maricopa to do business within city limits, and are valid for one year.

Three of the permits were for local companies and four were for Valley-based ventures.

The three local companies receiving permits were Arizona American Institute for Self Defense Arts, Fitness with Michelle and JPS Inprints LLC.

Those outside the city receiving permits were Taylor Publishing Company, Cherokee Fire Protection, Botta’s Concrete Construction and Valley Fire Sprinkler Inc.
