The United Way of Pinal County is hosting free seminars to help residents manage their finances during these tough economic times.

According to United Way, “Through careful planning and use of money management skills learned in these seminars, residents can feel more confident about their ability to live within their means, handle emergencies, reduce debt and save for the future.” Information on how to obtain and understand a credit report, what affects a credit score and how to negotiate with creditors will also be provided. A workbook is included for participants.

The U.S. Small Business Administration, Central Arizona College and Consumer Credit Counseling Services are sponsoring the seminars.

On Nov. 19 the seminar topic is “Budgeting and Debt Management During Difficult Times,” and the Dec. 16 topic is “Setting Goals and Priorities: Choose Your Financial Destination.”

Both classes will meet at the CAC Corporate Center, 540 N Camino Mercado, Suite 1, in Casa Grande. Pizza will be served at 5:30 p.m. followed by the seminars from 6-7:30 p.m.
