SR 347 car accident results in critically injured

A 29-year-old Hidden Valley woman is in critical condition after a two car head-on collision today on John Wayne Parkway south of the tracks. She and the two occupants from the other vehicle were evacuated from the scene by helicopter to Maricopa County Medical Center.

The woman, driving a compact sedan northbound on 347/John Wayne Parkway, turned left in front of a Chevrolet Suburban, according to Lt. Scott Elliott of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Department.

The driver of the suburban was ejected through the windshield of his vehicle but was alert and complaining of back pain when he was taken from the scene.

The sheriff’s department is still investigating the accident. This is the third accident on SR347 in or around Maricopa in the last month resulting in critical injury or death.
