State Route 347 resurfacing project begins Thursday

    The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) will be resurfacing ten miles of State Route 347 from the Pinal County line south to Edison Road in the City of Maricopa. Times and specific lane work are detailed as follows:

    The project will consist of two phases: the first phase is milling (removing a layer of the existing pavement), and the second phase is paving.

    On Thursday, July 26, milling is scheduled on SR 347 beginning at the Pinal County line to Edison Road on the outside southbound lane.

    On Friday, July 27, milling is scheduled beginning at Edison Road to the county line on the outside northbound lane.

    On Saturday, July 28, milling is scheduled beginning at the county line to Edison Road on the inside southbound lane.

    On Monday, July 30, milling is scheduled beginning at Edison Road to the county line on the inside northbound lane.

    All work on the southbound lanes is scheduled from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. All work on the northbound lanes is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    On Wednesday, August 1, the paving phase will begin on the southbound lanes, starting at the Pinal County line. Work hours on the southbound lanes will be 4 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    On Monday, August 13, the paving work will begin on the northbound lanes, starting at Edison Road. Work hours on the northbound lanes will be 7 p.m. to 4 a.m.

    All paving work has been scheduled so that rush hour traffic will not be affected. This part of the resurfacing project is scheduled to be completed August 24.

    Motorists are advised to watch for construction personnel and public safety officers and to obey all posted speed limit signs while traveling through the construction area.
