Sun Life to expand services with new office

Ground has recently broken at 44572 W. Bowlin Road for Sun Life’s multi-practice office in the Business Park at Copper Sky. The larger 11,200-square-foot facility is being built to suit by Alexander Building Company, Inc., out of Scottsdale.

The new office will house Sun Life’s existing family practice, growing from one physician and one family nurse practitioner (FNP) to two of each.

Construction of the new office is estimated to be completed sometime this summer.

With the average age of Maricopa residents being 30.1 years, and the average family size being three, Sun Life Director of Operations Kim Collins explained, Sun Life saw a need for pediatric care, as well. So along with two family practice doctors and two FNPs at the new office, Sun Life will be introducing two new pediatric physicians. Both pediatricians are coming out of residency and are slated to begin at Sun Life in Maricopa on Sept. 1.

Sun Life will also be opening up its first pharmacy in Maricopa in the new building. Sun Life Director of Pharmacy Victor Provencio said the new pharmacy will open before the end of the year. It will start as a pharmacy for Sun Life patients only, and then convert to a public pharmacy for all Maricopa residents.
