The continuing growth of Maricopa will be prevalent in Tuesday’s meeting as the city council may take action on a purchase of land for city projects, as well as discussing the movement of public works buildings.

Council will consider the possibility of entering a Purchase and Sale Agreement to purchase over 69 acres of land for $3.1 million to use for city projects. The land is currently owned by Estrella Ginning, Inc.

The council will also make a decision on amending the CUP10-02 (conditional use permit) to place a metal fire apparatus building on the northeast corner of Garvey Road and John Wayne Parkway.

In addition council members will discuss the possible placement of a temporary trailer for the Maricopa Police Department chief and administration at 45145 W. Madison Ave., which will require an amendment to the CUP10-04.

The meeting will be held at the Maricopa Unified School District Administration Building, 44150 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway, at 7 p.m.
