The Tortosa Homeowners Association is presenting a free Luck o’ the Irish Concert in the Park on Saturday partly as a fundraiser for Relay For Life.

The concert is free and open to the public. The fundraising events at the concert will benefit Relay for Life.

The concert will be 3 to 6 p.m. in Tortosa Park. The event will feature live music by The Sullivan Band. A green beer garden and shaved ice will be served and the first beverage – alcoholic or nonalcoholic – is free to residents of Tortosa.

Relay for Life is an organized, overnight community fundraising walk to raise funds to fight cancer. This year it will be held April 26-27 at Copper Sky Recreation Complex.

The fundraising stations at the concert have been organized by the Tortosa Relay for Life team called the Tortosa Tumornators, said Ellen Buddington, lifestyle director for the Capital Consultants Management Corporation at Tortosa.

There will be concession stands and a Digging for Gold game for children to win prizes, Buddington said. Also, Bobbi-Jo Asher is hosting a Scentsy station and 25 percent of the sales proceeds will go to Relay for Life.

Besides the Irish rock music, 13-year-old Maricopa Sequoia Pathways student and musician Allene Dugan will be playing on her pennywhistle and guitar.

Tortosa is located at 36557 W. Honeycutt Road.
