A 48-year-old woman faces 48 years in prison after her arrest in Maricopa last week.

Maricopa police pulled over a car with no insurance around 10:30 a.m. Dec. 30 near John Wayne Parkway and Honeycutt Avenue.

Police quickly noticed the driver, Yvonne Ramirez, seemed intoxicated. Ramirez denied having drugs or weapons on her and gave cops consent to search her car.

Officers found a gun, more than 2 grams of methamphetamine and a drug pipe.

Ramirez, who has been convicted of felonies before, told police she last smoked meth about eight hours prior and agreed to a blood test.

Ramirez was arrested and booked into the Pinal County Jail on charges of possessing a gun as a felon, hiding the gun, aggravated DUI with no license, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing drug paraphernalia, driving with a revoked license and two counts of DUI.

She faces nearly half a century in prison.
