Train accident victim air lifted from Maricopa

A helicopter team responded to pick up an accident victim on Sunday who had been moved from the railroad crossing on State Route 347 to the parking lot of Maricopa Fire, just north of the tracks, until the helicopter arrived.

The condition of the victim, where he or she was taken and how the accident occured were not immediately available. Officials from Maricopa Fire, Maricopa Police and the Arizona Department of Public Safety did not immediately return phone calls requesting additional information.
