Transportation Open Houses to take place across county

30

The Pinal County Board of Supervisors would like to invite all area residents to the second round of public hearings regarding the County’s Small Area Transportation Study (SATS).

People will be given a chance to review the recommendations of the transportation planners and to offer their comments for consideration before the final document is published.

There will be three SATS Open Houses. Each of those meetings will contain the same information on the SATS and their findings.

The SATS Open Houses will take place at the following locations:

Tuesday, May 30, at J.O. Combs Middle School Multi-Purpose Room, 37327 N. Gantzel Road in Queen Creek;

Wednesday, May 31, Gardner Learning Center, located at the old Gardner Middle School, 715 Avenue D in San Manuel and

Thursday, June 1, Stanfield Elementary School District Cafeteria, 515 S. Stanfield Road in Stanfield.

The open houses will run from 5 until 7 p.m. with a short presentation of the draft plan at 5:15 p.m.

The study’s objectives are to address several issues related to the future of transportation in Pinal County. Transportation planners are studying what transportation improvements are needed, how the improvements will be implemented and funded and when the improvements should be constructed. The planners are looking at a plan that will be viable 20 years into the future.

If you have any questions regarding the open house, contact Kathy Borquez, Special Projects Manager for Pinal County’s Department of Public Works, at (520) 866-6406, or by email.
