A car crash sent two people to the hospital and briefly snarled traffic on Maricopa’s busiest road Friday evening.
A white Honda Accord traveling southbound on John Wayne Parkway collided with a silver Mazda 3 that appeared to be turning onto the road from eastbound Garvey Avenue around 7 p.m.
Maricopa firefighters and paramedics with Southwest Ambulance treated two people, one from each vehicle, and transported them to Chandler Regional Medical Center as a precaution. Three other occupants were not hurt in the collision.
The crash restricted southbound John Wayne Parkway to one lane for about 45 minutes.
