Wanted: Founders Day vendors, activity zone sponsors

28

Last year’s Founders Day event drew a crowd of approximately 9,000, and this year’s event promises to be just as popular.

On Saturday, Oct. 10, Pacana Park will be home to a Kid at Heart Activity Zone, 25 food vendors and 75 businesses and non-profit organizations, who will display their products and services from 2 to 8 p.m.

This year’s celebration of Maricopa’s founding in 2003 will be a family affair with activities for all ages, history displays, an artists’ village, the Maricopa High School Band and other local bands performing all day. The family pet can even enjoy a Bark Park experience.

Fifteen spots are available in the Kid at Heart Activity Zone. Businesses or organizations can sponsor one or more inflatables for a $500 fee, but they must staff their site. Applications, which are being taken by the city of Maricopa, are available for download here.

This year the city is partnering with the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce to produce Founders Day. Food vendors should apply to the city by the Sept.11 deadline. There are 25 spots available on a first come, first served basis. Contact Maria Billingsley at 520-316-6962 for further information on the Kid at Heart Activity Zone or becoming a food vendor.

All artists and non-food vendors should apply to the Chamber for booth space. Seventy-five spaces are available for businesses and non-profit groups.
