Wild Horse Pass hosts ‘cougar’ contest for $5,000

A cougar, also known as puma, mountain lion, mountain cat, catamount or panther, depending on the region, is native to the Americas and has the greatest range of any large wild terrestrial mammal in the Western Hemisphere.

However, it is a whole different type of cougar that will be on the prowl at the Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino this summer.

Beginning Thursday, June 10, and running every Thursday until July 8, the hottest 30-plus-year-old women will strut their stuff at the AiRIA Nightclub in the Cash 4 Cougar Contest. Women will compete in front of a panel of judges for $5,000 in prize money and to be recognized as Arizona’s finest feline.

Each Thursday night three contestants will be selected for the final showdown, which is scheduled for July 8. First prize of the competition is $2,500 with $1,500 going to the runner-up and $1,000 to third place. There is no limit to the amount of times a woman can compete in the competition.

“This is just a fun promotion for our high-energy night club,” said Melody Wolcot, spokesperson for the Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino.

Those interested in competing in the contest should email a photo and brief bio to [email protected] or text “cougar” to 411247.
