Sarah Turner, a Maricopa pre-teen active with her local 4-H Club, has been named one of the winners of the 4th annual Subway Freshest, Fittest Essay Contest of the Year, Subway® Restaurants of Arizona announced Friday.
Kids throughout the Valley had the chance to win tickets to the 2012 Subway Fresh Fit 500™ at Phoenix International Raceway by submitting essays focused on how their schools and/or after-school organizations help them live healthier, happier lives.
In her winning essay, Turner wrote about how her 4-H Club teaches hands-on healthy cooking and shopping techniques as well as encourages kids and their parents to take part in local fundraising walks and other outdoor activities together.
