My name is Isaac Salter. I am 13 years old and every weekend I volunteer at the Valley Humane Society in Casa Grande.

The Valley Humane Society is the only non-kill shelter in Pinal County and they take in both cats and dogs. I help by walking, brushing and playing with the dogs. Some dogs are very shy so I hand out treats and just spend time with them. There is a special room where I can let the cats roam around.

The kittens are so funny because the climb on everything and love to chase toys. I also help out at adoption events where we bring the animals to Petsmart. This allows everyone to meet the animals and see how cute they are. I’m proud to do this because I am helping animals to get new homes. I really like being a volunteer because I like animals and want to help them.
