Just after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Maricopa Police Department and Maricopa Fire/Medical responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway and White and Parker Road.
Upon arrival, first responders determined that the female driver of one of the vehicles was unable to exit her vehicle on their own and needed to be extricated. Once out of the car, she was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
Based on the initial investigation of the crash, officers believe that one of the vehicles attempted to make a left turn through the intersection; however, they did not complete the turn before being struck by an oncoming vehicle.
The investigation is still ongoing.
