Maricopa police arrested a 20-year-old father accused of threatening to murder his girlfriend Sunday night.

Officers arrested 20-year-old Zachary A. LeClair on domestic violence charges of assault, disorderly conduct and criminal damage, according to a probable cause statement obtained by InMaricopa.

Just before midnight, police responded to a report of a couple fighting at an apartment complex on North Porter Road.

Officers heard crying and yelling when they arrived and split up the fight, according to the police document.

The girlfriend told police LeClair was drunk and went on a rampage when he was denied sex, throwing things around the room, choking her and smashing her cell phone.

Police reviewed video footage showing LeClair throwing items around the room, trying to punch his girlfriend and pushing her into a shower. Their baby was crying from the next room.

The footage also showed LeClair tell his girlfriend he’d go on a shooting spree if she called the cops.

Police found two guns in a safe.

LeClair told police his girlfriend was the aggressor.

He was booked into the Pinal County jail and faces 16 months behind bars.
