School board meets Wednesday to hear recruiting plans

Wednesday evening’s school board meeting will feature recruiting plans and trips as well as a proposal for the restructuring of the Before and After School Program.

Human Resources Director Heidi Fawcett will present a proposed recruiting plan to members of the governing board; they will also be asked to approve two recruiting trips for two leadership team members per trip. Destinations would be the East and Midwest in early Nov. and late Feb. The cost, including registration, airfare, rental car and hotel, would be $1,200 for one trip and $3,500 for the other one.

The board will review personnel requests and a new position. A possible restructuring of the Before and After School Program is an agenda item for board deliberation and action.

In addition, the guaranteed maximum price for Phase II of the high school’s renovation will come to members of the governing board for approval.

The board will review Arizona School Board Association political agenda priorities, tabled from a previous meeting.

The final item on the agenda for the 6 p.m. meeting in Room 1 at the high school is an executive session in regard to a student suspension or expulsion.
