The Maricopa Junior State of America Club (JSA) attended their first-ever Fall State Convention Nov. 19.

Maricopa High School students earning special recognitions included:

■ Jasmin Dimas – Debate Winner: “Resolved, Snowden should be pardoned for his actions involving the exploitation of the NSA.”

■ Reina Enriquez winner of a full ride scholarship to attend JSA Summer School at Princeton University this summer.

“We took one of the largest first time delegations in history with 27 students and we even had a debate winner,” advisor Jason Goodwin said. “If you see our kids, make sure to congratulate them on their recent successes.”

The JSA Club is currently preparing for the next competition – Winter One Day Convention.
