A man accused of having sex with a 79-year-old woman’s corpse in a Phoenix Morgue last month was a long time Maricopa resident, according to county records.

Randall Bird, a 46-year-old former security guard for the Banner University Medical Center morgue, was arrested Nov. 28 after a coworker alleged finding him with his belt off and zipper down Oct. 22, according to the New York Post.

The woman’s body bag was unzipped and facedown, according to court records. His belt was apparently on top of the gurney.

Bird was terminated after the incident, according to media reports. He faces five felony counts of crimes against a dead person.

Before the incident, Bird was a long time Maricopa resident, according to county records.

He lived in Maricopa for 11 years, at his and his wife’s homes on West Toya Street in Alterra, and West San Pedro Street in Tortosa.

He only left the city in June this year when he relocated to an apartment in Mesa.
