Another East Valley pizza parlor on the menu

Another sit-down restaurant is crust over the horizon.

Ahwatukee-based Zzeek’s Pizza submitted pre-application paperwork last week to open its sixth location near the southeast corner of Honeycutt and Whisker Roads, a public records request revealed today. If approved, the pizza parlor would be the first restaurant east of Porter Road.

While details are slim, a brief letter from Phoenix architecture firm Soaring Eight said the restaurant owners plan to construct a 7,000-square-foot building with a patio seating area. The restaurant will occupy half of the building, with the rest taken by an additional tenant or two.

The restaurant joins other recent development further down Honeycutt Road: U-Haul, Christ’s Church of the Valley and a Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall.

In 2013, Zzeek’s Pizza opened its first restaurant in Ahwatukee and received accolades for best pizza multiple times from the East Valley Tribune and Ahwatukee Foothills News. The pizzeria is known for its wings, hand-tossed crusts and keto-friendly pizza options.
