Assistant Manager Roger Kolman announced today he will resign effective Jan. 6.

City spokeswoman LaTricia Woods said she could provide no details of his resignation.

All department heads who report to Kolman will now report to City Manager Brenda Fischer, she said.

Woods said the city plans to hire a new assistant manager, but Fischer will likely hire an interim assistant city manager first and then evaluate the position.

Kolman began working for the city in 2004 as finance director and was promoted to assistant city manager in 2008. He also served as interim city manager after Rick Buss stepped down and before Kevin Evans was hired as city manager.

According to his Linkedin page, Kolman has worked as an accountant for the city of Chandler and attended Northern Arizona University and Montana State University.
