Big O Tires to open in 2 months; restaurant, hotel to follow

Ground has been broken on the Big O Tires site on the southeast corner of John Wayne Parkway and Edison Road, which should open by Sept. 10, according to developer Eric Parpart.

“We are going to work hard and fast to get this store up,” Parpart said.

The tire retailer is part of the initial phase of Parpart’s development, known as Edison Place. Although Parpart would not release the names of retailers planned for phase two, he said he has signed agreements in place with a sit-down restaurant and a hotel chain for the second phase. He did not indicate when phase two would start, but did say he is expecting to get approval for the sites in a couple of weeks and from there it is up to the city.

The two companies Parpart has deals with will be in charge of the construction and timetable of their own facilities.

“Once I turn the dirt over to the restaurant and the hotel, they will begin to pay me immediately, so it is in their best interest to move rapidly,” Parpart said.

In addition to Big O Tires, the restaurant and hotel, an additional 12,000 square feet is available in the development.
