City hires Rebecca Molus away from Pinal Energy
Rebecca Molus, who has long aspired to work for the city of Maricopa, will be doing just that beginning Nov. 26. Molus, currently positions manager for Pinal Energy, has been hired by the city as an accountant for the public safety department.

Molus has been an active citizen since she and her husband, Mark, moved to Maricopa in 2005 from San Clemente, Calif. She is a former member of the Planning & Zoning Commission and Maricopa Fire District Governing Board, among her many volunteer pursuits. While her new staff position required her to resign from the Planning and Zoning Commission, Molus will retain her position on the Maricopa Local Fire Pension Board.

Molus is excited to utilize her 12 years of accounting experience stating, simply, “I love our city.”

Desert Sun Performing Arts helps raise $1,000 for homeless kids
Desert Sun Performing Arts, in cooperation with Desert Star Gymnastics and the Maricopa MOMS Club, raised more than $1,000 at its inaugural Oktoberfest for kids Oct. 27.

“My favorite part was when my students said to me, ‘I can’t believe we did this! This was so cool!'” Ceylan Gentilella, owner of Desert Sun Performing Arts, said. “They were actually psyched to do something good and to give back to the community by helping others.

Proceeds from the event will be used to purchase backpacks and other necessities for local homeless students. Click here for full story.

Jason Baer, founder of award-winning interactive agency Mighty Interactive, has been providing Internet consulting since the inception of the medium in 1994. On Nov. 27, he’s going to do so for Maricopa businesses as keynote of a business seminar entitled “Internet Marketing that Works. Cobblestone Dental remembers the 80s
The staff at Cobblestone Dental celebrated Halloween last week in retro style. All seven members of the staff donned ’80s garb for the day and patients were treated to ’80s music and sugar-free, tooth-shaped lollipops.

“It was a really fun day,” said office manager Sonja Dekker. “All the staff really got into it, including Dr. Shah with his Frankie Goes to Hollywood shirt and ’80s hair!”
