While Caesar’s Entertainment Operating Company is undergoing Chapter 11 reorganization, the company emphasizes many of its associated properties are not part of the filing.
That includes Harrah’s Ak-Chin, which is unaffected. The casino in Maricopa is not owned by CEOC. It is managed by CEOC but is owned by the Ak-Chin Indian Community.
CEOC, a subsidiary of Caesar’s Entertainment, voluntarily submitted to the court-supervised re-organization on Jan. 15 under the United States Bankruptcy Code. The filing impacts 18 properties, from Bally’s and Caesar’s in Atlantic City, New Jersey, to Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.
“Caesar’s Entertainment and all our properties are open for business and providing our guests rich experiences, and quality service is our top priority,” Gary Loveman, chairman, president and CEO, said in a prepared video statement.
The action taken last week, he said, will set up CEOC for “sustainable long-term growth” and reduce the amount of money the company spends annually on paying off its debt.
