Casa Grande China King, Francisco Grande cited by health inspectors

The Pinal County Health Department inspected 21 eateries in Casa Grande last month, handing out failing scores for two, China King and Francisco Grande Restaurant USA, Inc.

China King, 1275 E. Florence Blvd., was dinged to a score of “N” for storing raw chicken over vegetables, improper cooling and storing foods at improper temperatures.

Francisco Grande, 2684 W. Gila Bend Hwy., was knocked to an “N” for the freezer dripping onto food, not properly wrapping food and storing food at improper temperatures.

In addition to the two restaurants receiving “N’s,” Ochoa’s Restaurant, 512 E Cottonwood, El Rinconcito Snack, 1269 N. Promenade Pkwy, and T and M Pizza, 1264 E. Florence Blvd. were dropped to a score of “S.”

Rinconcito was dinged for storing foods at improper temperatures; Ochoa’s was knocked for employees eating in improper areas and storing foods at improper temperatures, and T and M was marked down for storing eggs in the wrong location, failure to date mark foods and open drinks in prep areas.

Health inspectors conduct random inspections aimed at ensuring that all the proper steps are being taken to maintain consumer safety, Pinal County officials said. To that end, the department can issue violations that are either critical or non-critical. Critical violations must be fixed within 10 days and affect a location’s score. Non-critical violations must be fixed within 90 days.

Grades are based on the number of violations, with an “E” for excellent being the highest possible score an establishment can receive. Other scores are: “S” for satisfactory; “U” for unacceptable and “N” for needs improvement.

Those receiving perfect scores were Turtle Bay Café, 414 N. Marshall St., Tommy’s Bistro, 913 E. 8th St., Eegee’s, 1436 E. Florence Blvd., Oasis Pavilion, 161 W. Rodeo Rd., Subway, 847 N Promenade Pkwy., Silver Bullet, 101 N. Pinal Ave., The Gym Bar and Grill, 1601 E. Florence Blvd., Pizza Hut, 714 E. Florence Blvd., Burger King, 2233 E. Florence Blvd., Sonic, 1392 E. Florence Blvd., Blimpies, 1667 N. Trekell Rd., IHOP, 2064 E. Florence Blvd., Jewel’s Desert Sands, 1515 N. Pinal Ave., McDonald’s, 2824 N. Pinal Ave. and Olive Garden, 717 N. Promenade Pkwy.
