Casa Grande Dairy Queen cited for 2nd month

90

The Pinal County Health Department inspected 15 Casa Grande food establishments this past month, handing out less than perfect scores to Dairy Queen and Eva’s Fine Mexican Food.

Dairy Queen, 211 E Florence Blvd, was cited for not holding ice cream at proper temperatures and dusty cooler vents.

Eva’s, 2033 N. Pinal Ave., was dinged for incorrect reheating practices, holding foods at incorrect temperatures and using improper bags.

For these violations both restaurants were given an “S” on their inspection.

Health inspectors conduct random inspections aimed at ensuring that all the proper steps are being taken to maintain consumer safety, Pinal County officials said. To that end, the department can issue violations that are either critical or non-critical. Critical violations must be fixed within 10 days and affect a location’s score. Non-critical violations must be fixed within 90 days.

Grades are based on the number of violations, with an “E” for excellent being the highest possible score an establishment can receive. Other scores are: “S” for satisfactory; “U” for unacceptable and “N” for needs improvement.

Those receiving perfect scores in July were Vaqueros Carne Asada, 3860 N. Pinal Ave., Turtle Bay Café, 414 N. Marshall St., Los Hermanos Mexican Food, 1328 E. Florence Blvd., Kentucky Fried Chicken, 618 E. Florence Blvd., Borderline Café, 109 E. Second St., Subway, 2820 N. Pinal Ave., Rosati’s Pizza, 1645 N. Trekell Rd., Papa Murphy’s Pizza, 1485 E. Florence Blvd., Bosa Donuts, 1659 E. Florence Blvd., McMashers, 1355 E. Florence Blvd. and Big House BBQ, 104 E. Fourth St.
