More than 40 trains pass through Maricopa each day, and more are coming. There are approximately 6,000 railroad-crossing accidents each year in the United States involving a motor vehicle and a railroad train.

To celebrate their third year anniversary, Maricopa eatery Brooklyn Boy's Pizzeria and Restaurant will host a customer appreciation event this Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Pinal County has issued two Requests for Proposal in the past 12 months for a vendor to host and manage auto racing at the Pinal County Fairgrounds & Events Center.  No bidders emerged in either round of solicitations.

Pinal County Republicans met Saturday at the SCAMR Union Center in Florence to hear Sen. John McCain speak on the Health Care Plan, Homeland Security and the shift in Washington D.C.
