Circle K going up south of tracks

The days of south side Maricopans having to cross the tracks for a gallon of gasoline are coming to an end.

A Circle K is scheduled to break ground at the corner of John Wayne Parkway and Bowlin Road this December, according to Michael Koslow, owner of the development company behind the project, Sonoran Creek LLC.

“This the first gas station south of the tracks, and it will go a long way toward serving people in that portion of Maricopa,” Koslow said.

Koslow added that, in conjunction with the Circle K, he is planning on constructing an 11,000-square foot retail center, which will house four to five small retailers.

“I haven’t decided if I will begin construction on the shops the same time as the Circle-K, but the infrastructure for both projects will begin at the same time,” Koslow said.

Koslow said he anticipates the gas station will open about eight months after construction begins.
