Maricopa’s Public Safety Committee and the Department of Public Safety (DPS) will present the pros and cons of red light and photo radar enforcement at city council’s work session at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

A potential agreement between the City and the Fire Fighter’s Association is also on the agenda as a presentation by Gregory Fretz.

Consent agenda items include approval of engineering services for proposed improvements on the Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway, including the intersection at White and Parker Road. Contracts for miscellaneous street and sidewalk repairs in Maricopa are also up for approval.

In addition council members are slated to adopt rules and regulations for Article 12-4 of the City Code, relating to Motorized Play Vehicles.

At the 7 p.m. regular session three special event applicants are seeking permit approval. Maricopa Rotary Foundation is planning their Cotton Pickin’ Barn Dance on Oct. 20; First Baptist Church has a Fall Harvest Festival on the calendar for Oct. 31, and Against Abuse, Inc. has scheduled the Seeds of Change Gala for Feb. 23.

Liquor license applicants include Native New Yorker, for the purpose of selling alcohol at Founders Day on Oct. 13, and Taco Del Mar.

Council will also take action on renewing a consulting contract with Robert Jackson for professional services to the Maricopa City Manager’s office.
