City to host second redevelopment district forum tonight

Maricopa residents tonight will get their second chance to attend a redevelopment district forum hosted by city officials at 6 p.m. tonight at the Global Water Facility, 22590 N. Powers Parkway.

Nearly 100 residents, real estate agents and developers turned out Jan. 8 to a meeting at City Hall to discuss the creation of a proposed redevelopment district which would label much of Maricopa a blighted slum.

Mayor Kelly Anderson scheduled tonight’s meeting as a follow-up to provide answers to questions he said he could not immediately answer during the first meeting.
