Community of Hope Church  invites the public to celebrate Native American Heritage Month at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services on Nov 18.

November is American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month. Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native people.

Heritage Month is an opportune time to educate the general public about tribes, to raise a general awareness about the unique challenges Native people have faced both historically and in the present, and the ways in which tribal citizens have worked to conquer these challenges.

"Chairman Louis Manuel Jr. from the Ak-Chin Indian Community will be sharing with us, and Rain Song will present a program blending storytelling and First Nations music," said Pastor Rusty Akers.

The public is invited. The services are at 18700 N. Porter Road.

Find the church on Facebook and at COHMaricopa.com.  Rain Song also is availably on Facebook.
