Contest promises free makeover, fashion show

Maricopa stylist Anita Turner is working on making the world a more beautiful place, at least four faces at a time.

The CNC Barbershop and Spa stylist is currently collecting applications from which she will select four people to receive a free makeover.

The makeovers will include hair styling, makeup and a free outfit of clothing from Fashions and More in Maricopa. But that’s not all. The four recipients will model their new looks at a mock fashion show in late April, with the winner receiving a bundle of prizes.

“Not all the prizes are finalized yet, but some will include 25 percent off CNC services for a year, 10 percent off Fashions and More for a year and a Teakwood’s gift card,” Turner said.

Turner, who grew up in the Tucson area, came up with the contest idea as a way to give back to those struggling in the poor economy.

“As women, we like to look beautiful, but at times we cannot afford to get our hair styled or new clothes when we want to,” she said. Turner will collect applications for the makeovers until April 3, and each submission must include a brief paragraph on why the person needs the service and a photo.

You can submit an application for yourself or for a friend or family member you feel would benefit from a makeover.

To apply, send submissions to [email protected].
