Phoenix police named the accused drug dealer they arrested in Maricopa Friday.

Anthony Seruya, 32, faces more than a quarter-century in prison.

Seruya was booked into the Maricopa County jail on seven felony charges including aggravated assault on a police officer, unlawful flight, possession of narcotics and other dangerous drugs, and possession of a weapon with previous convictions, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Phoenix cops received a call around 5 p.m. Friday that a man and woman were selling drugs out of their car near 51st Avenue and Southern Road, according to Sgt. Brian Bower, a spokesperson for the department.

When police tried to contact the vehicle’s occupants, the driver pulled away from the officers and sped off.

Police deemed it a dangerous situation, and a Phoenix police chopper followed the driver into Maricopa, Bower said.

Seruya made his way to Maricopa with the chopper, and several cruisers, hot on his tail. He eventually stopped at Adobe Circle in the Cobblestone Farms neighborhood where cops placed him in handcuffs without incident.

He was transported to a hospital as a precaution and was promptly booked into jail where he waits to face a Maricopa County Superior Court judge tomorrow.
