The Maricopa Unified School District governing board will discuss employee compensation and new positions at its meeting Wednesday at the District Office.

Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Tom Beckett will propose personnel changes for the 2023-24 school year including additional high school and elementary counselors.

An instructional coach serving both Pima Butte and Santa Rosa elementary schools, a position that would pay $84,000, is on the agenda. Beckett also plans to add three new counselors at the high school and elementary levels, using $231,000 from the district’s maintenance and operations budget. A Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports specialist in the district office, a $42,000 position funded by Title IV, is also up for the board’s consideration.

Community members are welcome to attend the 6:30 p.m. meeting and provide feedback. Click here for detailed agenda.
