‘Cover Me Pretty’ postponed, Suite 16 Girls to attend Harrah’s Pool Party

Citing logistical issues including a lack of available staff over Easter weekend, the city has post-poned the Suite 16 Girls “Cover Me Pretty” concert from March 22 to April 26 when the girls will perform during the Fourth Annual Maricopa Salsa Festival Presented by inmaricopa.com.

On Friday, however, five of the women who paid their way to Maricopa to compete for a chance to become part of a girl band will perform a few songs at Harrah’s Casino and Hotel Resort along with headline cover band Shining Star.

It’s all part of the Harrah’s Friday Night Pool Club from 4 to 10 p.m. on the Agave patio at Harrah’s, 15406 N. Maricopa Road.

In keeping with the pool party theme, the girls will be there in bikinis and wraps to promote their upcoming charity benefit concert at Pacana Park in Maricopa, Harrah’s Spokeswoman Susan Baker said. Four of the nine women associated with Suite 16 won’t be able to participate because they are under 21.

“We are going to allow them to come to our event and promote it to help Maricopa,” Baker said.

In addition to the Suite 16 Girls, the pool party will include an Effen Vodka model appearance between 6 and 8 p.m., a poolside barbecue, specialty drinks and dancing to the live band.
