Deadbeat dad judge candidate spends for campaign but can’t pay child support

I find it shocking that Frank Gagliardi can run for Pinal County Justice of the Peace in District 8 because he has so many personal issues that relate to his integrity and honesty – both qualities a person needs to be a Judge. 

Gagliardi has been jailed twice for failure to pay child support (see Pinal County Superior Court Case DO 2007-00876), yet he asserts he is a “family man” in his campaign information. On Oct. 23, he attended a charity wine-tasting event where he paid $50.00 per ticket for him and his girlfriend. He paid cash for a sponsorship of the event, a campaign expense. Yet, he claims that $300 per month is enough to support his four children and he can’t pay any more. He has paid for numerous signs and ads – another campaign expense – to run for office, but won’t support his family.

Gagliardi has violated campaign law by spending well over the $500 threshold limit – evidenced by his campaign adverting and signs – and not forming a committee or disclosing who gives him money. Failure to file campaign paperwork officially is a crime and a violation of the Code of Judicial Conduct.

He also violates the Code of Judicial Conduct by implying on his signs that he is an incumbent by not displaying prominently the words “vote” or “elect.” Failing to do so is a violation of the Code, as is being found in contempt for failing to pay child support.

He has had numerous lawsuits and complaints filed against him and his solely-owned businesses – Maricopa Discount Auto, TMG Enterprises, Maricopa Heating and Air Conditioning – for unethical business practices. He has had his contracting license revoked (See State of Arizona Public Access website, Arizona Better Business Bureau, Arizona Registrar of Contractors, Maricopa Chamber of Commerce), yet he campaigns as a “respected” businessman.

He has had at least two warrants for his arrest based on failing to appear for criminal charges (check with the Maricopa/Stanfield Justice Court and the City of Maricopa Municipal Court). He has had at least three criminal complaints filed against him for driving on a suspended license, criminal speed and Disorderly Conduct for unlawfully discharging a firearm (check with Public Access of Arizona and the Maricopa/Stanfield Justice Court or City of Maricopa Municipal Court).

Even though he has been repeatedly warned by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, he continues to advertise as a licensed contractor – even though his contracting license has been revoked. Advertising as a licensed contractor is a class one misdemeanor (see his past advertisements in the Communicator and the continued display of his revoked contracting license on his work truck).

He has been repeatedly cited for animals at large and has paid at least $300 to release the animals, yet cannot pay for his children’s support. His dogs are repeatedly attacking other animals in his neighborhood and he is under investigation for allowing his Rottweilers to kill two other dogs.

What will Gagliardi do as a justice of the peace if he continually violates the law and sacrifices integrity and honesty to get elected to that office – at the expense of his own children? Do not vote for a corrupt, dishonest person.
