Desert Star Gymnastics placed second by a mere three-tenths of a point behind the first place team at the first USA Gymnastics Excel Program meet held in Arizona.
The Maricopa team scored 106.25 points at the meet Jan. 7 at the Aspire Kids’ Sports Center in Chandler and had champions in each level in which they registered.
