Dolores “Dodie” Doolittle has announced she is running for a second term as Pinal County Treasurer. Doolittle was elected Treasurer in 2004.

Doolittle has worked in the Treasurer’s office for 17 years. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Arizona State University. She serves as a county representative on the Arizona Association of Counties Executive Board, and serves on the Finance Committee. She is also a member and past president of the Arizona Association of County Treasurers.

Dodie currently serves on the Auxiliary Board for the Boys & Girls Club of Apache Junction and enjoys membership in the Florence Rotary Club. Since becoming Treasurer, Doolittle has implemented the On-Line Tax Sale, providing an opportunity for investors from across the country to participate in the tax sale process. She has also updated the County Investment Policy to set priorities for the safety, liquidity and yield of all investments.

“The Treasurer has a statutory responsibility for safekeeping public funds on deposit with the Treasurer,” Doolittle said. “In the current market, it is customary to consider the rate of return on investments; however, my objective is to ensure funds are secure and available to meet the daily cash flow needs for school districts, special districts and the community college. I continue to work with the State Treasurer and other brokerage firms to develop an investment strategy for the benefit of the short and long term goals of the County.”

Doolittle has been a life-long resident of Pinal County. She graduated from Maricopa High School and currently resides in Gold Canyon with her husband. She has five children and six grandchildren.
